Course Synopsis:
The Personal Finance Class helps students explore the different types of information and skills students will need to make good decisions when the day comes that they will be living on their own.



Course Objectives:

This class addresses such things as:
  • Ways of being paid
  • Getting an apartment
  • Buying on credit
  • Using a checking account
  • Types of insurances.
  • Identity Theft
  • On Your Own Coast-to-Coast Simulation
Classwork and Test Taking Policies

Most of the activities and assignments are done in class. If students do not finish during the time given they will be expected to finish assignment for the next class.

Since class time is given for all work, it is expected that students will turn each packet in completed. If absent you are still responsible to complete the work sheet.

Accommodations and Enrichment:

Accommodations will be made for students with physical and learning disabilities based on individual student’s needs.

Student in the Gifted Program will be excelled or enriched as per their skill or ability level warrants.

Students not identified as gifted or learning support will also be provided accommodations or enrichment according to their skill level.

Text Message Reminders

Students and Parents should sign up for text reminders for assignment due dates and test for their cell phones. I encourage all students who have unlimited texting to do so. Parents are also invited to sign up so that they can keep informed of upcoming tests and assignments.
